Where I Come From

I grew up without my mother present in my life. She battled sickness and addiction — two storms that took her away long before she physically left. As a young girl, I learned how to navigate life without the softness, guidance, and protection that a mother is supposed to give. I learned resilience early. I learned independence early. And I learned compassion early, because I saw firsthand what addiction can steal from a person, a family, and a community.

Those experiences shaped me. They didn’t break me — they built me.

Why Community Work Matters to Me

Every outreach event, every shelter visit, every donation drive, every moment spent serving women and children — it’s personal. When I walk into a shelter, I see the version of my mother who never got the help she needed. I see the little girl I used to be. I see families fighting battles they didn’t choose.

And I show up because I know what it feels like when no one does.

The Legacy I’m Building

My story is not one of shame — it’s one of transformation. My mother’s struggle taught me empathy. Her absence taught me strength. Her journey taught me purpose.

And now, I use that purpose to uplift others.

Simply Glowing is my way of honoring the woman she couldn’t be and becoming the woman my community needs.

How Pain Became Purpose

Instead of letting my childhood define me in a negative way, I made a decision: I would become the woman I needed growing up. Not just for myself, but for every woman, mother, daughter, and family in my community who has been touched by addiction, instability, or loss.

Simply Glowing was never just about beauty. It was about restoration. It was about creating a space where people feel seen, valued, and cared for — even on their hardest days. It was about giving back to the same community that raised me, supported me, and struggled alongside me.
